St. Ambrose Food Bank: On the the first weekend of each month, St.
Ambrose parishioners show their generosity by “brown
bagging” donations for the local food pantry. Please consider leaving a bag of non-perishable food or cleaning products in the vestibule at any of the weekend Masses. Thank you for your continued acts of charity.

Many thanks to all those who worked so hard to put together
this year’s Chicken Dinner Festival. A special word of thanks
goes out to the Festival Planning Committee and to the
co-chairs of the committee, David Bender and David Vincent.
Many thanks, too, to all the men, women and children who work
our festival weekend. And, finally, thank you to all those who support our
annual festival. We couldn’t do it without you! May God bless

Cuyahoga River Family Canoeing Fun: Join the family of St. Ambrose for an exciting afternoon of
canoeing, picnicking, and socializing. Tentatively planned for

Akron Aeros Baseball: The Parish Social Life Committee is planning a
night at the ballpark: Friday, August 7; game time
7:05 PM. A spectacular fireworks display will follow
the game. Tickets are $5.00 each. Reservations
and pre-pay ARE A MUST! Call Matt or Amy Ryser at 330-527-
2575 to reserve your spot or with any questions. Deadline for
reservations is July 5.
Yard Sale: The St. Ambrose Altar and Rosary Society is sponsoring a yard
sale on Saturday, July 11, from 8 AM until 1 PM. You
can rent a spot for $10.00 and a table for $5.00. What you don’t
sell you must take home. For more information and sign-up,

Youth Ministry Hosts Blood Drive: As in the past our youth group will be hosting the blood drive
on Thursday, July 16. We need youth group volunteers to
help out and make this drive successful. Please call Mrs.
Kable at 330-527-4822 if you would like to volunteer.
Evening of Discernment: Parishioners who have nominated themselves to serve on our
parish’s Pastoral Council are reminded that there will be an
Evening of Discernment on Thursday, July 16, at 7PM in
the church. Four parishioners have nominated themselves. At
the discernment service two will be chosen to serve a three-year
Council term beginning in the fall of this year.
Knights of Columbus:
 Annual Knights of Columbus Higher Education Scholarship: Applications are available for the K of C scholarship of $500, which will be
awarded to a graduating senior in this year’s class, based on
registered status of your family within St. Ambrose parish, and regular Youth Group attendance. The scholarship can be
used for any higher education, and will be
distributed after a successful fall semester. Applications and
guidelines are in the vestibule and will need to be returned by Sunday, August 2. A random drawing of successful
applicants will take place in the church hall on Saturday, August 8, at the Knights of Columbus Steak Fry.
Steak Fry: The St. Ambrose Knights of Columbus Council is
hosting their annual Steak Fry on Saturday, August 8, in the
church hall. Plan on a
great evening of steak, door prizes, cash bar, music and maybe
some 50/50! Check out the Knights' booth at the festival for
more information and tickets!! $15.00 for a single and $25.00 a
couple!!
Sister Parish: In your May/June contribution packets, there will be a
specially marked envelope for those who wish to make a
monetary donation to our brothers and sisters at our“sister parish” in El Salvador, San Rafael. Whatever you can give will be greatly appreciated
and will help further the mission of the Church in
one of the poorest areas of our world.
