As of May 28, 2022, St. Ambrose Church, St. Joseph Church in Mantua, St. Joan of Arc in Streetsboro, and Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Aurora officially
became a collaborative region known as northern Portage County.
Fr. Shawn Conoboy and the parochial vicar (to be named) has been appointed pastor of St. Joseph and St. Ambrose.
Fr. Conoboy maintains his responsibilities as pastor of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish, Ecumenical and Interfaith Officer, and part-time professor
at Walsh University. He will work with Fr. Chris Luoni, pastor of St. Joan of Arc, Streetsboro, to serve the needs of the faithful of all four parishes
in northern Portage County. They will prepare the four parishes to share two priests within the coming year.
A native of Jefferson, Ohio in
Ashtabula County, Fr. Shawn is the youngest of six children. He
graduated from Jefferson Area High School, attended Franciscan University in Steubenville, Ava Maria College in Ypsilanti,
Michigan, and then North American College in Rome for seminary formation and theological studies. He was ordained July

(Boardman), Christ the Good Shepherd Parish (Campbell), Holy
Family Parish (Brewster and Navarre), St. Mary and St. Joseph
Parish (Newton Falls), prior to coming to Our Lady of Perpetual
Help Parish (Aurora) in August of 2019. We thank God for the
gift of Fr. Shawn’s faith-filled life and his dedicated service. Pray
that the Holy Spirit will sustain and strengthen him as he serves
our parish.

Ministry of Care: Prayer Request
Ministry of Care was started by Vi McCarty and has been part of our St. Ambrose family for decades. If you have a prayer request or would like to become a St. Ambrose prayer warrior, please email your information to ministryofprayersa@gmail.com. Prayer requests will be sent to members at the beginning of each month via email in the form of an attached letter. For prayers needed in between the monthly letter you can simply send your request to the same email, and all members who are on the email chain will receive it. If you do not have access to email, you can contact the rectory to request a copy to be mailed to you. For other questions please feel free to contact co-chairs Betsy Dunn 330-719-2657 or Judy Macek 330-398- 5000.
Are You Registered?
To avoid problems or misunderstandings, especially when planning baptisms, marriages, etc., be sure that you are registered and active. To register, call the rectory at 330-527- 4105. One way to show you are active means to use your weekly contribution envelopes. That way, the computer will not deactivate you.
